Designed by Loredana Dionigio and built by engineer Giancarlo Gonnet, Infini.to is not only an example of functional architecture, well-integrated into the nature of the hill.
Its structure also plays a fascinating astrophysical phenomena.
The dome
that encloses the hall of the Planetarium of 98 seats is a red supergiant star. The cone of crystals
running
from entry level down to the level -3
rappresents the accretion disk of a black hole orbiting the star, from which it attracts and swallows matter.
For the originality of this solution that combines functionality and meaning, elegant forms and scientific message, the architectural design of Infini.to has received numerous awards in Italy and abroad.
